Corporate & HR Leadership Development Training

Human Resource Managers, Executives, and top business leaders:

Are your managers or supervisors overloaded with work?
Do they complain of unrealistic deadlines?
Are they distressed by competing personal, family, and work obligations?
Does their work environment lack support?
Do they face fierce competition for a small number of leadership positions?
Are they frustrated with power struggles, turf wars or territorialism at work?
Do they have difficulty functioning as a team member?
Do you wonder if they are a good fit for your organization?
Do you want them to become indispensable rather than obsolete?

Perhaps you have a new supervisor or manager hoping to avoid:
Problems handling authority and communicating assertively?
Sleep problems associated with evening socializing, heavy travel across time zones, and working too much?
Prioritizing tasks, delegating and managing time?

AdvantEdge Success Coaching can help you help your supervisors or managers overcome these and many other work-life issues. We help your employees manage stress by balancing work and personal obligations. We help them make effective use of time, plan, and set goals. This makes them much more productive. We also help them relax and build or maintain a social support system. We help your employees increase their focus so they work smarter while staying within the hours required.

Lastly, we can help your supervisors and managers explore the fit between them and your organization by administering assessment tools such as a 360 feedback, DISC, StrengthsFinders, and EQ. After all, the better the fit between an employee and his/her organization, the greater your job performance, commitment, satisfaction, and self-esteem. Without a good fit, employees will encounter:

  • stress, burnout
  • conflict
  • apathy, pessimism
  • indecisiveness
  • confusion
  • deteriorating insight and judgement
  • loss of business sense and forgetfulness
  • overreacting to insignificant matters
  • overwhelm

In our rapidly changing, increasingly complex society and global economy, it has become more and more challenging and stressful to function as a business leader. The loneliness, power, and great demands of management leave many executives looking for someone they can trust to provide objectivity, support, and guidance. That’s where we come in. We have training and experience in leadership, supervision, and management.

AdvantEdge Success Coaching can also help your leaders develop traits of successful executives. According to James Rippe, M.D. successful leaders are:

  • Active, both physically and psychologically
  • Energetic with a lot of stamina
  • Aware of the connection between a healthy lifestyle of diet and exercise and executive performance
  • Stress-resilient because they exercise a high degree of control over their job, are self-reliant, and have a rich network of nurturing, sustaining personal and professional relationships
If your supervisors or managers lack any of these traits, we can help you. Our approach is time-limited and focused on goals, action and outcomes. It is the most useful way to teach human relations skills to new or challenged leaders.

We may have your supervisor or manager complete assessments regarding his/her personality, managerial behavior, emotional intelligence, leadership competencies, communications style, values, etc. One type of assessment is a 360-degree feedback tool in which others (boss, peers, direct reports, support staff, subordinates, etc.) anonymously rate him/her on specific behaviors - a useful way to obtain feedback on how he/she is perceived by others in your organization.

Shadowing allows the coach to see your supervisor or manager in action. We provide feedback on the coachee’s interpersonal skills by observing him/her as he/she facilitates a meeting, gives a presentation, handles grievances, conducts interviews or disciplinary meetings, or discusses sensitive issues with senior leadership.

Your supervisor’s or manager’s coaching plan documents goals and objectives that will be achieved during the coaching experience. It may include improving communication skills, delegation, improving productivity of his/her work team, interpersonal skills, decision-making, problem-solving, work/life balance, time/stress management, etc. that are broken down into specific actions to be accomplished and measured. This determines whether coaching has been successful. The plan is derived from the coachee’s stated goals and from assessment/shadowing information.
