Barbara Jordan, of AdvantEdge Success Coaching, has been studying and practicing executive coaching, leadership development, industrial/organizational psychology, management training, & behavioral assessments for 15 years. She has a Bachelor of Science in Human Development/Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. She has a Master of Science in Educational Psychology from UW-Milwaukee. Barbara furthered her studies with UW-Milwaukee’s Corporate Consulting & Coaching program which focused on Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Quality of Work life, Employee Development/Training, and Personnel Psychology. She also received training from The College of Executive Coaching.
Barbara has a knack for getting to know her client and often brings her client into uncharted territories. Her powerful intuition and her ability to shift perspective allows leaders to successfully reinvent themselves and get past what holds them back so they can change… for good! Barbara has designed a coaching program that begins with assessments that allow each client to clarify their personal and professional strengths and areas to develop. This is followed by an individualized leadership action plan, including unique specific, measurable, action-oriented, realistic, time-referenced (S.M.A.R.T.) goals and objectives. She combines this insight with her client’s natural talents and learned skills to create a purpose/mission statement which they can use as a springboard for their decision making.
Barbara’s love of learning and teaching led her to become an instructor in 2005. Since that time, she has taught 20 courses at the college level and worked as adjunct faculty at Concordia University of Wisconsin in the areas of psychology, communication, leadership, and behavioral change. With a passion for community involvement, particularly in the business community, Barbara volunteered as a SCORE Mentor and held leadership positions with Green Bay Society for Human Resource Managers (SHRM), Leadership Green Bay (LGB), and Servant Leaders of Wisconsin (SLOW).
A devoted, loving mother of 3 handsome young men, Barbara does whatever she can to help her sons achieve health, happiness, and success. Her love of exercise and Salsa, Swing and ChaCha dancing helps her balance her strong work ethic with her desire to play.
As a strategic, visionary thinker, she has a passion for inspiring people, at all levels, to optimize their full potential while focusing on Emotional Intelligence, Servant Leadership, and work-life balance. Unlike other Executive Coaches, Barbara, herself, has been a leader. As a Supervisor, she has several direct reports with whom she applies all of her leadership skills. Many other so called experts or “gurus” are not nor have they ever been leaders themselves. In contrast, Barbara understands leaders, can identify with them, knows what it takes to be successful and yet is aware of their concerns.
Barbara has been coaching leaders for 15 years, primarily at the middle management and executive level. As a Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) Trained Coach and a DISC Certified Behavior Analyst, she has administered and debriefed the LPI 360-degree Feedback tool and the DISC behavior assessment. Having coached individuals and groups in several industries, she understands how people grow and change. She coaches leadership “from the inside out”, and facilitates hundreds of breakthroughs by removing self-limiting beliefs and mindsets. She goes beyond information to transformation, teaching not only what great leaders do, but also how they think! Barbara is an Executive Coach who helps aspiring female leaders develop the confidence, courage, & assertiveness to reach the next level in their career! She also helps both men AND women who are authoritarian, bottom-line, command-and-control, dictatorial, micro-managing leaders become more like servant leaders.
